Vrlo zanimljivo!
Nego, radi se o lokomotivi proizvodjaca General Electric, a ne General Motors EMD (danas Electro Motive Diesel) ;)

Da vrlo zanimljiv model da naravno nisam naveo i General Motors ima udela u ovom poslu naravno ali globalni patent ovog modela nosi G.Electric sto se vidi i po samoj oznaci na sanduku GE .

Sto se tice vaseg pitanja dali je lakse bilo uraditi elektricnu lokomotivu i dako doseci standarde zastite ekologije naravno,ali GMkao i GE firme su lideri u izgradnji jedinica na dizel elektricni pogon samim tim ne zele da izgube trziste u buducnosti time su preuzeli odgovornost u izgradnji prve dizel elektricne jedinice na hibridni pogon :ILoco, 'Evolucija Hibridni "izgleda i radi kao standardna ES44 serije lokomotiva *app*

Problem je sto elektricne lokse ne bi imali gde da voze... Naravno ima elektrifikovanih pruga, pogotovu izmedju i oko vecih gradova ali Amerika ima i dosta prostranstava koja su nenaseljena i kroz koje pruga prolazi - prosto jefitnije im je da teraju dizelom nego da sprovedu struju...

Predstavljena je na sajmu u Berlinu 2010 godine uradjena je jedna jedinica kao prototip :I
